“Pompeii Group size was way too big. We lost a ton of time waiting for folks that didn’t show up or later got lost or didn’t make it back in time. This is in control of the operation and needs to be fixed. Bring your own water. Buying water at Pompeii is 2euros each, 4 for a coke. Guide was good, but the place is way overcrowded. Find a time to go off season if you can. Skip the summer if possible. Vesuvius was fun, but rushed. Only 80 minutes to hurry to the top, take photos, grab a souvenir, wine, and head down. Be prepared for a hot hike…”

“Pompeii was amazing, we liked that we had headsets to hear the guide. She took us to amazing parts of the site. We wished we could have seen more. The transportation was chaotic. The bus we were on met up with other buses creating chaos to where we needed to go. On leaving the site we encountered a monsoon rain and the guide rushed down the hill so fast we could not keep up with the group and waited around in torrential rain looking for our bus or guides. Very unorganized.”

While we wanted to do everything planned the traffic is so terrible that we ended up doing a "drive-by" in Sorrento instead of spending any time there. We will definitely go back and do Capri! Suggestion to future cruisers: Pompeii is nearby the port so very doable; don't try to pack everything in one day.”
